(01). PROJECT
How do you sell a Miami address to somebody who has never shipped a parcel in their life?
eShip is a courier and freight company in San Salvador. It gives customers a warehouse address in Miami, buys on their behalf when a US store refuses to ship abroad, and brings the parcel home by air or by sea.
We designed and built the site where all of that happens — the storefront, the locker account, the freight calculators and the checkout.
Walkthrough – 2022
(01) ABOUT THE PROJECT
What does a shipping company have to answer before anyone hands it a package?
The site is designed and built on WordPress with WooCommerce: information architecture, page design, storefront, customer accounts and launch. The four services — Ecommerce, Compramos por ti, Courier and Encomiendas — each get a page that numbers the steps, because what a first-time customer is really asking is what happens after they pay.
Two calculators sit in the middle of that funnel. The air freight one prices a parcel by weight and by volume, with a centimetre-to-inch converter beside it, and breaks out customs duty, handling and insurance before anyone commits. The ocean form quotes cargo. Registration asks for DUI and NIT because Salvadoran customs asks for them, not because the form wanted more fields.
(02) PROJECT GOALS
Let somebody price a shipment, and see the duty on it, before they create an account.
Run the store, the lockers, the quotes and the payments from one WordPress the team updates itself.
eShip now sells the whole journey — the Miami address, the purchase, the flight and the door — in one place.
