Small business website checker: can a customer reach you, and do you know it?

Paste your home page and get a score out of 100 on the 23 things that decide whether your site brings customers: contact in one tap, Google Analytics and Tag Manager, mobile, speed, and the structure Google and AI assistants read. Each point is compared with 469 real small-business sites in Houston and San Salvador.

We fetch the home page once, like a browser would. We do not log in, install anything or keep a copy.

What we check

  • Technical floor: HTTPS, mobile viewport, response, speed, mixed content.
  • Contact in one tap: form, WhatsApp, phone, booking, chat.
  • Measurement: GA4, Tag Manager, Meta pixel.
  • Structure for Google and AI: title, description, H1, JSON-LD, canonical, Open Graph, alt text, language, indexable, copyright.

Each point is compared with the average of 469 real small-business sites.

What it checks, and why

The four things that decide whether a visitor becomes a customer

Most free "SEO checkers" grade technical details that rarely move a small business. This one grades what we fix first on client sites, in that order.

1. Technical floor

HTTPS, a mobile viewport, a correct response, HTML delivered in under three seconds and no mixed content. 96% of Houston sites already load over HTTPS and 90% are mobile-ready. If you fail here, fix it first.

2. Contact in one tap

A form on the home page, a WhatsApp link, a tappable phone number or an online booking link. 48% of Houston home pages have none of them, and 35% in San Salvador. If you have at least one channel we do not penalize the others.

3. Measurement

Google Analytics 4 tells you how many people came. Tag Manager is what lets you count a form submit or a WhatsApp tap as a conversion. 77% of Houston sites load GA4 but only 34% use Tag Manager.

4. Structure for Google and AI

A title, a meta description, one H1 that says what you do and where, JSON-LD, canonical and Open Graph tags, image alt text and a current copyright year. 36% of Houston home pages lack an H1 or a description.

What to do with the result

Five steps, in this order

Each point has a weight between 1 and 6 according to how much it affects leads. The score is not a ranking factor: it is the checklist of what a customer needs from your home page.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

If yours is not here, write to us and we answer the same business day.

Is this the same as PageSpeed Insights or Lighthouse?

No. Those measure how the page renders on a device (Core Web Vitals). This checker measures whether the home page lets a customer contact you, whether that contact is measured, and whether the page carries the fields Google and AI read. Use both.

Why does it only check the home page?

Because that is where most first visits land and where most sites fail. Inner pages usually inherit the same header, footer and tracking. If you want a page-by-page review, ask for one.

The tool says I have no form, but I do.

The form is probably loaded by JavaScript after the page renders, or lives on a separate contact page. Google's crawler sees the same thing this tool sees, so a form that is not in the HTML is also invisible to it. Put a plain form or a WhatsApp link in the HTML.

Do you store my URL or the report?

The result is cached for ten minutes so a shared link opens fast, then discarded. If you request the report by email we keep your email and score to follow up once; no newsletter.

Can I check a competitor?

Yes. Any public home page. Compare your score with the businesses you compete with on Google Maps; the contact and measurement sections are where you can win fastest.

What does "not applicable" mean on a point?

It means you already offer a contact channel, so a missing optional one (chat, booking, Meta pixel) does not count against you.
