What does a ride-hailing app need from its website?

ViaRide is a ride-hailing app in Maryland, with one app for riders and another for drivers. The site had to speak to both without mixing them up and send each one to the right store, in Spanish and in English.

It also had to cover what the App Store and Google Play ask of any app with accounts: a privacy policy, terms and a public page to delete the account and its data.

How do you keep riders and drivers apart on one website?

With a switch at the very top and a color for each: gold for riders, blue for drivers, the same tones as the logos of the two apps. Each side has its own home, its own buttons to its app and its own questions.

Riders see the estimated fare before they confirm, how to share a trip and how drivers are reviewed. Drivers see the requirements and how to start getting trips.

How do you show an app without filling the page with screenshots?

The phone screens are built in HTML and SVG, not images. As you scroll, the phone rises, straightens up and the app moves through its screens, with the route animated on the map. It stays sharp on any screen and loads light.

What can ViaRide change without touching code?

From the WordPress dashboard they change the App Store and Google Play links for each app, the email, the phone, the hours and every text on the site in both languages. While an app has no link yet, its button reads «Coming soon».

Every contact message and every account deletion request is saved with a reference number, and the team marks it as processed once it is handled.
