  • Tllevo is a ride-hailing app for a transportation company serving the Maryland and Washington D.C. area, and it makes its promise right on the home screen: ¡Comunidad 100% Latina! We designed the whole product experience, from the first launch of the app to the moment the trip is paid for.

The brief was not to copy the category leaders. It was to design an app that a Spanish-speaking rider recognises as their own — plain language, generous touch targets, and a flow that never asks for more than one decision at a time.

Designed Around the First Ride, Not the Hundredth

People usually open a transportation app under pressure: running late, hands full, or standing on a street they don’t know. So every screen had to be readable at a glance. A taxi yellow that is understood before a single word is read, a deep navy that keeps the map the brightest thing on the screen, and one primary action per step: verify your phone, choose where you are going, pick a ride, confirm. Each ride tier shows arrival time, seats and price on a single line, so the decision takes seconds.

From an Empty Map to the Receipt, Every State Designed

The prototype covers the full journey, including the states that usually get skipped: onboarding and phone verification, the home map with saved places, destination search, the Preferencial and Confortable tiers with tllevo and tllevo family vehicles, the wait while a driver is matched, messaging with the driver during the trip, ride history with ratings, the account hub, payment methods and a help centre with an emergency entry point.

It was delivered as an interactive Figma prototype over a consistent component library, so the flow could be tested with real riders and handed to developers without guesswork.
